Talakayan hinggil sa mga karapatan, kakayahan ng mga kababaihan isinagawa ng TESDA

LUNGSOD AGHAM NG MUÑOZ, Nueva Ecija – Humigit kumulang isang libong kababaihang technical-vocational students mula sa iba’t ibang paaralan sa Gitnang Luzon ang lumahok kamakailan sa isinagawang talakayan ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) na bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng mga Kababaihan.
 
Ayon kay TESDA Regional Director Teodoro Gatchalian, layunin nitong ipaalam sa mga kababaihan kung papaano makapagbibigay kontribusyon sa ika-uunlad ng komunidad at ng bansa sa pangkalahatan.
 
Kabilang sa mga paskang pinag-usapan ang mga programa ng ahensya, mga batas gaya ng Violence Against Women and their Children at pag-iingat laban sa illegal recruitment.
 
Lubos na ipinagmalaki ni Gatchalian na base sa kanilang datos, mas marami ang kababaihang nagsisipagtapos sa kanilang mga pagsasanay sa rehiyon.
 
Ang ilan pa rito ay may sertipikasyon ng mga trabahong dinodomina ng kalalakihan at in-demand sa ibayong dagat gaya ng welder at heavy equipment operator.
 
Mas madali pa aniyang makuha sa industriya ng pagwewelding ang mga kababaihan dahil mas pirmi ang kanilang mga pulso kaya’t mas maganda ang paggawa.
 
Sa huli, sinabi ni Gatchalian na walang pinipili sa pagkakaroon ng kasanayang teknikal at bokasyonal pagkat lahat ay pantay-pantay kaya’t  lahat ng kurso sa TESDA ay bukas kapwa sa kababaihan at kalalakihan. (CLJD/CCN-PIA 3)

New 7ID commander assumes post



CAMP RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija,  -- Brig. Gen. Glorioso V. Miranda on Wednesday took over the command of the Philippine Army’s 7th Infantry (“Kaugnay”) Division, the country’s biggest training army camp.

The turnover of command ceremony was held at the 7ID grandstand at 9 a.m. witnessed by this camp’s 5,000 soldiers, local provincial and city officials and mediamen.

Miranda replaced Lt. Gen. Hernando Delfin Carmelo Irriberi, who was promoted as commanding general of the Philippine Army last February.

Miranda and Irriberi are members of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Matikas” Class of 1983.(PNA)

Bus hits tri-bike, kills 2 in Nueva Ecija



SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija -- Two persons were killed when a wayward passenger bus hit the tri-bike they were riding along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Tabuating, this town, at about 8 p.m. Wednesday.


Chief Inspector Renato Calderon Morales, town police chief, identified the fatalities as Andy Tigao, 47, and his grandchild, Angeline Tigao, 6, both residents of Barangay Tabuating, this town.
The two victims were both pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.


The errant Baliwag Transit passenger bus, with plate number CXM 910, and body number 9925 was driven by Luisito Ortiz, 56, a resident of Barangay San Roque, San Isidro, who was immediately taken into police custody.


Investigation showed that the bus was headed for Manila at about 8 p.m. when it “bumped the tri-bike while crossing the road.”

Ortiz was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide, in relation to Republic Act 7610. (PNA)
